About
Raise is a movement to make social media safer for the next generation.

Raise convenes latest campaigning, volunteer efforts, advisory, data and research from those working in social media, to make a difference in social media for good.
Launched by Drew Benvie, founder and CEO of social media consultancy Battenhall, Raise was first conceived as an idea in 2019 to make social media safer, when Drew was carrying out research for a TED talk on the future of social media.
Since then, interest from media, education and organisations in the private and public sectors in improving social media safety has propelled Raise and our ambitions. From schools to businesses to prisons (see below pic), we've made progress but at the same time, we've only scratched the surface.

Fast forward to today, Raise appears across a broad range of media with the focus of making the most of social media for good, and unpacking the ways we need to be protected from the worst that happen on social media too.
